Kale is a very popular vegetable Rich in fiber, high content of vitamin A and K, vitamin C and rich in antioxidants

The most popular way to eat it is to make salads or baked chips! This time I will share two flavours:

Original flavor

Homemade vegan cheese sauce

How to Make Kale Chips

First of all, the kale needs to be washed first. After washing it thoroughly we can remove the leaves from the stems and tearing it into smaller pieces.

We must ensure all leaves are dry before proceeding to the next step.

Original Flavour

Now transfer some of the dried kale leaves to a bowl. I am using 1 bunch of kale for this flavour. Pour in some avocado oil into the bowl, just enough to cover all the kale leaves. Don’t overwhelm it with too much oil. I have added a little salt in it. It is very versatile, you can add any seasonings you desire.

Bring the seasoned Kale over to a baking pan. Do not overlaps the kale, put them side by side and touches as little as possible. This helps the kale to become crispy. Set aside, we will now make our vegan cheese flavour.

Vegan Cheese Sauce

For the vegan cheese flavour we will need a high speed blender and some soaked cashews. Pour in the soaked cashews into the blender along with some lemon juice, nutritional yeast, agave syrup, salt, tumeric powder, chinese Celeries and water. Blend until smooth. Then we are ready to use.

Pour this Vegan Cheese Sauce into a bowl of dried kales. Make sure all kales has soaked with the vegan cheese sauce. Again don’t overwhelm it with too much sauce otherwise it is hard to get crispy.

Bring the cheesy kales over on a baking sheet. Spread it apart and minimal touches from one and other. Now we are ready to bake!

Turn your oven to the lowest point with conventional on. Do not close the oven door fully, leave it a bit open so the kales won’t over cooked or gets burned easily. Check every 5 minutes to prevents kales from burning. The original kales Cooked faster, usually within 15 minutes it becomes very crispy.

Whereas, cheese flavoured kales need a bit longer time. If you have dehydrator, you can use it instead. Just turn it on the lowest point, it takes about 24-36 hours before it is fully cooked.

If for some reason the kales haven’t gotten crispy, you can return them to the oven. The lower temperature will help draw out moisture and encourage crispiness!
